Eight Steps to Lasting Happiness:  Meditations on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

These 8 meditations are the specific steps for eliminating negativity in our mind and increasing our capacity for inner peace and happiness. As we become familiar with these meditations, our mind becomes stronger and experiences longer and longer periods of peace and happiness. The meditations are organized in a sequence so that as we gain more understanding of the first one, it helps us to gain more understanding of the next one. If we keep meditating on these and putting them into practice, eventually we can attain freedom from suffering and the lasting peace of a completely pure mind.

All sessions are guided, are 1 hour long, and include some short chanted prayers for meditation. The books The New Eight Steps to Happiness and How to Transform Your Life will be our references.
