Away Retreat in the Western Maryland Countryside

September 11-13th, at Mar-Lu-Ridge retreat center

REGISTRATION OPENS JULY 8TH AT 1PM!

In this weekend retreat, the Resident Teachers from all five Kadampa Centers in our region will guide meditations and teachings that help us access the natural stillness and spaciousness of our own mind. Drawing on the first stage of Buddha’s profound Mahamudra teachings, these practical methods offer genuine tools to calm the mind, reduce stress, and find balance in daily life.

Meditation on the sky-like nature of the mind is simple yet deeply transformative—perfect for both beginners and experienced meditators alike.

Join us for an inspiring weekend of rest, reflection, and renewal. Everyone is welcome.

Mindfulness in Daily Life

A Saturday Retreat on July 11th, 10am-3:15pm

In the fast pace of our work and personal lives, our attention is easily scattered and our mind cluttered with endless distractions.

Training in mindfulness gives us the power to overcome disturbing thoughts and to stay focused on what brings peace of mind and happiness.

It is about remembering to be in the present moment, and applying Buddha’s teachings to our daily life.  All of Buddha’s teachings, or Dharma, help us to use the present moment in the most meaningful way.

All About Meditation

Saturday, July 18th at 11am-12:30pm with Teacher Rick Ratigan.

This class is designed to help you improve your daily meditation practice, or start a practice.  Meditation is the main tool that Buddhists use to make lasting positive changes in our minds and lives.  Learn to meditate in an authentic way that has been used for centuries to reduce mental and physical suffering and increase the power of the mind, resulting in greater peace and happiness.
