Refuge Vow Ceremony & Teaching: Coming Under the Umbrella

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

At this event, Gen Chogden will explain and give the Refuge Vows.

The practice of Refuge characterizes the Buddhist way of life and is the foundation for all spiritual realizations. By going for refuge to Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, we make a decision to make effort to receive Buddha’s blessings, put Dharma into practice in our daily life, and sincerely rely upon the community of pure spiritual practitioners.  This practice is like an umbrella that protects us from suffering.

Through this practice we are firmly placing our feet on the path to the blissful inner peace of enlightenment.

Cost:  Free.  It is traditional to bring an offering for the shrine.
To Register: At this point, please sign in when you arrive. Walk-ins are welcome!
