Mala Making Workshop

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

A mala is a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations.  For Buddhist practitioners, a mala is a precious and meaningful sacred object.  In this workshop, we will help you to make your own full length mala.  You can choose your beads from Gyaltsen’s supply or bring some of your own.  Gyaltsen will also explain how you can increase the sacredness and power of your mala.

Kelsang Gyaltsen will be leading this workshop. He is a qualified Kadampa artist who will explain how to make malas and how to use them to count mantras.

To Register: At this point, please register at the door, as space allows.

Cost: $30-- or $25 for early registration (by Dec 2nd), students, seniors 62+, and unemployed. Free for benefactor level members.

Must register by December 9th so we can plan the supplies!
