In this retreat we will explore timeless Buddhist advice on the following:
How can we protect ourself from suffering and unhappiness, including exhaustion and burnout?
How can we develop and maintain a sense of wellbeing and happiness in life?
What do we need to do in order to take good care of ourself?
How can we take good care of ourself without becoming selfish or neglecting others?
Through practicing the instructions and meditations presented in this retreat, we can learn to transform the act of caring for ourselves into part of our spiritual practice of cherishing others. In this way we can protect and look after our own happiness and wellbeing, while at the same time being of benefit to others.

Cost: $35-- or $30 for early registration (by Sep 3rd), students, seniors 62+, and unemployed. Lunch included. Free for Supporter and Benefactor level members.
Schedule: 10 - 11am; 11:45am - 12:45pm; lunch; 2 - 3:15pm (3-3:15pm is time for Q&A).
About the Teacher: Gen Kelsang Chogden
Gen Kelsang Chogden is a Buddhist nun and Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland.
Gen Chogden has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism since 1998 under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, who gave her the title “Gen” indicating that she is a senior ordained teacher of the Kadampa Tradition.
She is well-loved for her warmth, kindness, and wisdom, which have come from her sincere and heartfelt practice of Kadam Dharma over many years.
Her teachings are always practical and easy to apply to everyday life. Through her gentle and joyful approach and her peaceful example, she has helped many people find true happiness in their hearts.
