Meditations for Modern Life, followed by Sunday Social

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland (map)

There will be refreshments provided after class during our Sunday Social.

These classes include both meditations and teachings based on Buddha’s wisdom that can help us to stay peaceful, even in the most challenging times.

This week we have a Guest Teacher visiting and he will teach on the topic of:

The Wisdom of Meditation: How to Meditate Effectively

If we don't know how to meditate correctly and effectively, our meditation practice will lack power. Without the power of meditation, the purpose of our precious human life will be lost, and we will lack the ability to guide ourselves and others on the paths to pure and lasting happiness.

In this retreat session, Gen Chodor will share invaluable instructions provided by the accomplished meditation master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, on "Training in Meditation" from the book Mirror of Dharma with additions. This guidance is essential, offering instructions on how to meditate correctly and powerfully.

Gen Chodor will also share advice that Gen-la Dekyong (the General Spiritual Director of the NKT) received directly from Geshe Kelsang Gyatso on how to improve our meditation practice.

Through putting these instructions into practice, we will become qualified meditators with the ability to guide ourselves and others effectively on the path to pure and lasting happiness. How wonderful!
