Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland is a Temple dedicated to bringing peace and happiness to the world, and to removing suffering, through offering the methods of meditation and modern Buddhism.
Being part of a spiritual community gives us the inspiration and support we need to grow in our spiritual practice.
Weekend Retreat:
Foundations of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment
January is retreat month in Kadampa centers, and on the 17th-18th weekend we have the opportunity to do retreat on the special series of meditations on the stages of the path to enlightenment, as presented in Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book How to Understand the Mind.

Mid-Atlantic Dharma Celebration: The Healing Power of Compassion
A very special annual event that connects practitioners around the Mid-Atlantic region. This incredible weekend of practical teachings, powerful meditations, and an energizing empowerment is an event not to be missed.
This year it will be held March 6-8th, right here at KMC Maryland!
US National Kadampa Festival 2026
April 24-29
Just a 5-hour drive from Baltimore, up in the Catskills is our East Coast National Kadampa Temple! This year we have the opportunity to attend the US Festival there and receive teachings and empowerment on The Heart of Reality, with Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab. Click below for more details.

International Kadampa Festivals
International festivals of teachings, empowerments, and meditations on modern Kadampa Buddhism. Held each Spring, Summer, and Fall.
2026 Festivals will include Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments being granted at the Summer Festival in the UK!
